10 days!!!

The day is finally here!! I am 10 days away from my last semester of college ever!! Well...MAYBE not ever but hey I'm graduating soon!!!! I start my Student Teaching semester on August 1st and I could not be anymore excited! I will start this finale of my college career at Highland Oaks Elementary teaching PreK, and from there I will head to Holy Rosary Catholic school and teach 1st grade! Ahhhhh...... I am so excited and nervous and anxious and excited all at the same time!

The funny thing about all of this is that I think Alex is more excited about me Student Teaching than I am! He is only excited because that means 2 things for him, one that I will be out of school is less than 5 months and two we are that much closer to a two income family!!

Well I am telling you all of this to update you on whats going on in my settled and rarely exciting life. Be looking for my fun and hardly ever boring classroom stories, and my adventures of learning to teach!!

The Adventures Ahead!

I recently just finished my final semester of classes in college and I could not be anymore excited! Up next for me is Student Teaching which will begin August 1st, and I can not wait! It is so crazy to think that by Christmas time I will be a licensed teacher....crazy!! I am now out for the summer and I am looking forward to a nice relaxing break! Though I am very thankful for the time off I have done nothing but go to school for the past few years so this time off is weird for me! I find myself getting extremely bored and wanting to find stuff to do! So from just these two weeks I realized that I was never meet to be a stay at home wife! HA HA

So far this summer I have had the opportunity to see two beautiful friends of mine get married and I get to go on an amazing trip with my best friend very soon! I still do not know what my Student Teaching placements are; which is driving me crazy; but I am sure that I will find out soon. Let's just hope and pray that they are somewhere good and a place that might have a job opening in December!?! Once August rolls around I am sure that I will be full of fun and entertaining classroom stories so I can promise that I will keep this interesting. Until then you just get to read about my awesomely uninteresting simple life!!

Ohhhh How Sweet Is He...

So for the past 4 days I have felt completely horrible, I mean I have not felt like this in a long time! So I finally went to the doctor and it turns out that I have a sinus infection, bronchitis, and the flu...ALL AT THE SAME TIME! Since I have been so sick I have barely left the bed, which is unlike me and let me tell you for me to not get up and clean or straighten up the house; which I do everyday; means I really am sick. Alex being the amazing husband he is has been fabulous with waiting on me hand and foot. Yesterday he made dinner and even went grocery shopping, brought it all home and put it away! Then last night knowing that I hated that the doctor told him that he doesn't need to sleep in the same bed as me until my fever is gone; Alex made a pallet in our bedroom floor and slept on the floor so that I would not be alone. I just thought that this was the sweetest thing ever, since he could have just slept in the guest room where there is an actual bed. Needless to say this experience though extremely uncomfortable and I would like to not go through again has shown me just how sweet my husband really is!!!! YAY I got  a good one!!

I Think They Are Really Kids?!?!

Baby Fever! It has struck, but Alex will do everything he can to cure me of it! His cure, dogs! We got Polo right before we got engaged and he was just our baby! Just a puppy, not a cure! But soon after we got married Alex realized that we were going to need a cure; and that is how Maddie came along! Now we have two wonderful puppies who we love dearly but I didn't quit understand how dogs were going to cure baby fever! I definitely spoke too soon.

Right after bringing Maddie home she was immediately  scheduled for bi-monthly puppy visits to the Dr. and Oh My was that time consuming. Then Polo starting acting really weird; he was sneezing and coughing a lot and let me just say watching a weenie dog cough is quite funny. Soooo off to the vet we go, the verdict Polo let me remind you who is a dog has a upper respiratory infection. WHAT?! Finally we get all of Maddie's visits over with and Polo was finally better, so no more doctor! WRONG not even a day ago Maddie jumped up on the table and knocked off the glass bowl and cut her foot. Now we have an overbearing weenie dog and a german shepherd with a pink cast on her foot and a cone around her head. I seriously did not think that dogs would be this much work!!! Alex actually knew what he was doing when he got Maddie, she is really a child!! Now I don't know if I am ready for a REAL one! Alex was actually right for once!

You Know Your Married When....

So people say when your get married your whole life changes, and let me tell you that they are not kidding!!! Before I got married I was completely okay with staying up late or spending weekends out, going to dinner with friends, shopping or going to see movies. When I was not out doing those things I going to school, or at home relaxing watching one of my many favorite television shows like One Tree Hill or Gossip Girl!

Since the wedding I now enjoy going to bed at 9 almost every night, spending my weekends at Home Depot or doing yard work and my new favorite show...Rachel Ray! ha ha I would have never thought that at 21 years old I would find joy in watching Rachel Ray while folding laundry and taking notes on good cooking ideas!!

So when it's all said and done you know your married when you would rather cook and clean and your new favorite place to shop is at a home improvement store!!!

Adventures Of Newlyweds!!!

So since I am just now starting to blog I figured I could keep you up to date on what has been happening in the lives of the Armstrong's. So far we have been married 5 wonderful months, but needless to say they have not been without some excitement. In our first few months of marriage I started to explore and find things that I was not so good at!! For example; I am incredible at cleaning a house - - - - - just ask my husband : ) - - - - -  but when it comes to the simply task of doing laundry.... let's just say I'm lacking! Knowing this going in I decided to surprise my husband with perfectly clean and pressed clothes right when we got back from our Honeymoon! So me being the genius that I am I decided to take all, and I mean ALL of our clothes straight from our suitcase to the cleaners. In my defense in my mind I was thinking: "The commercials says like $0.35 a shirt so this will be super cheap and easy, and Alex will love it!!" To my surprise a few hours later I get a call to come and pick up our clothes and to pay the $110 dry cleaning bill. Try telling that to your new hubby; "umm sweetheart I accidentally spent $110 at the dry cleaners!!" So from my escapades with laundry to my adventures in the kitchen I can honestly say that married life has been anything but boring!!

Things to look forward to... well we just bought a house back in January so now we get to experience buying furniture, painting, and landscaping!!! Just so you know planting flowers and re-landscaping the entire yard; a lot harder than it sounds!! I am finding muscles that I didn't even know existed!!
